Lemon Pound Cake

I was scrambling for a dessert to send with Thommmee  to the Super Bowl party Sunday. I came across this recipe on Food.com . It was super easy and he said everyone loved it. Thought you might enjoy it. If I had know it would be such a hit I would have taken pictures. I have enclosed the link at the bottom of the page.  (Who knew I would enjoy all of this cooking and baking???) Happy Baking!!

Lemon Pound Cake
1/2 cup melted butter
1 cup sugar
 2 eggs well beaten
1 tlb lemon juice I also used about 1/2 tsp lemon zest)
1/4 teaspoon   salt
1 1/2 cups   flour
1  teaspoon   baking powder
1/2 cup   milk
 1/3 cup   lemon juice ( also added about 1/4-1/2 tsp lemon zest)
1/4 cup   sugar
Directions: 1. Mix together 1 cup sugar and butter. 2.  Add eggs and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice; mix well. 3.  Add salt, flour, and baking powder to mixture. 4.  Add milk. 5.  Bake at 325°F in a well-greased loaf pan for 1 hour,or until golden brown. 6.  Mix 1/3 cup lemon juice and 1/4 cup sugar. 7.  Use a toothpick to make holes in top of cake and drizzle lemon juice and sugar topping over the top of the cake when removed from the oven. (it is really more of a pour than a drizzle) 8. Serve warm or cool.
