Popcorn-old school style!

My daughter called to tell me she was making old-fashioned popcorn for her 11-year-old daughter.  She was shocked to find that her daughter had no idea that popcorn came in any way other than a movie theater or a microwave!  Their entire family had a great time with this which of course included a movie night at home. Nothing like a movie and hot buttered popcorn!!   I decided to give it a try myself since it had been awhile.

First I got out the necessary ingredients.

I then poured some cooking oil into a large frying pan.

As it started popping, I covered it with a tight fitting lid and started shaking the pan back and forth while cooking over medium high heat.

in a few minutes it was done…….

I then poured melted butter over the popcorn, added salt and……..

Popcorn!!

(We knew a thing or two about popcorn before microwaves)

The best part of this entire experience was my daughter sharing her memories of making popcorn with me when she was a girl!

Popcorn methods may change but not the love of mothers
