I have made this recipe for many years and have no idea where it came from. It is a quick and easy dessert that only requires a few ingredients. Although we usually have this refreshing treat during the hotter months, I decided to make one today.
- 1 graham cracker pie crust. You can also use any variation of pie crust. I have tried the Oreo crust and it is delicious.
- 2 cartons of yogurt-any flavor will work. You can use a fruit on the bottom style yogurt also.
- 1 tub of whipped topping. I have made it low-fat, sugar-free and they all work well.
- Fresh or frozen fruit-optional.
Mix softened whipped topping with yogurt. Add fruit if desired
Add mixture to pie crust.
Cover and freeze. You should allow at least 4 hours to set. Soften enough to slice before serving. Place unused pie back in the freezer or may stay in the refrigerator. (I would not leave it unfrozen for more than a day as it will become too soft.)
You can use fruit as a garnish before serving or freezing if desired. I added some frozen raspberries that I had on hand.
Today I used vanilla bean Greek yogurt
and decided to use some lemon zest to enhance a flavor.
