People say the most interesting things don’t they? I just love quotes so last month when I was challenged to participate in the 3 days 3 quotes challenge from a blogger friend,  masgautsen  over at The thoughts of life and me, I couldn’t wait to jump in. Yeah right, you might be thinking! Well here I am a month later. Quotes have been swimming around in my mind so I decided that today is the day to take the challenge.

Here are the three simple rules:

  1. Post 3 of your favorite quotes, 1 per day, for 3 consecutive days. The quotes can be from other people or may come straight from your heart.
  2. Nominate 3 bloggers to participate in the challenge.
  3. Don’t forget to thank the person who nominated you.

First, let me thank masgauten for this challenge. Ordinarily this might be something I would take a pass on but if you follow my blog you might have noticed that I actually enjoy these often witty and thought provoking one liners. I am certain it stems from my father who had a variety of quotes he used to keep us kids in line as well as inspire us to follow a straight path. In honor of him I will offer my first quote. This is something he often told us:

It all depends on where you sit how the picture looks

I just love that quote! It is a such a great reminder that we don’t all see the things in quite the same way. I have searched for the actual author of this marvelous quote but unable to confirm it. Possibly Dad cleaned it up a bit and took it from a line in the book by Raymond Chandler, The Long Goodbye.  That would make sense as he was an avid reader. Regardless, it is a favorite of mine-in fact our entire family!

 Let me say that  will in no way be offended should you not choose to accept the challenge. Accept only if you would enjoy doing so. If anyone else would like to take the opportunity to take part, please feel free to jump in!

  1. I love your quote! And you took one from your dad too. Funny, that my mother didn’t say things that were quote worthy.Now that I think about it. So I’m going to copy the quote and hang onto because it’s just so true.

  6. You were right not to nominate me, thanks, as I am struggling to keep on top of my to-do list. I haven’t blogged for ages as you would have noticed. All the same, glad you did not mind me dropping in with my suggestions. The book is going very well. There is a UK and Commonwealth deal in the offing, which means it will be available in paperback in Canada. Amazon US are already listing it for pre-order for 3rd December! I have had mostly good feedback, which is encouraging.

  8. Maybe I should use that for my quote tomorrow 😃 That is so perfect. I was having a little self-doubt mother issue today so that made me really happy to hear that quote! I am THE mother after all. ♡♡♡

  15. I love that one! I am so glad you jumped in. I seriously considered nominating you but know that you are super busy with your book. It is really interesting how these quotes in our lives stay with us. Especially the ones that have meaning to us- even if to no one else. I had never heard about the marriage and the bath but that one is so true. That could be said about so many things couldn’t it? Life itself is like a bath! Thanks again for the great quotes. How is the book coming along?

  17. Hey Mommermom, even though you did not nominate me – which is a GOOD thing, as I am not fabulous at that, and am short of time . . . I feel the need to jump in as you just got the memory neuro-transmitters zinging. I really hope you don’t mind me tossing in my two cent’s worth. In the pre-computer days of my former logistics role, I relied heavily on a prominently displayed, humongous white-board to keep the production and warehousing teams up to speed. I couldn’t help but write a quote of the week on it. They all could understand “Marriage is like a bath, it’s not so hot once you get used to it”; but when I wrote “How high you are, depends on what you consider to be the bottom”, even the CEO came around to ask me to elaborate 🙂 But the quote which inspired my memoir, from your very own Sandra Day O’Connor, is the one that has most recently influenced me, “We don’t accomplish anything in this life alone…and whatever happens is the result of the whole tapestry of one’s life and all the weavings of individual threads from one to another that creates something.” . . . (Okay, I’ll butt out now).
